I simply demontrate, how can we upgrades our Big IP System (Standalone) from 14.1.2.6 to 14.1.4

  • Step 1 : Step 1: Backing Up Your Current Configuration and Download ucs
  • Step 2: Dowloand and install new big ip iso from download.f5.com
  • Step 3: Install Available Image to Installed Image with new Boot Location
  • Step 4: Re-activate F5 License
  • Step 5: Copy Running Configuration to New Boot Location
  • Step 6 : Reboot F5 with new boot location

Step 1: Backing Up Your Current Configuration and Download ucs File

Back Up Current Configuration

  • System » Archives » Create
    • File Name = before_upgrade_back_up
    • Encrytpion = Disabled
    • Private Keys = Include

Download ucs File

  • System » Archives » before_upgrade_back_up.ucs » Download

Step 2 : Import New Version of Big-ip ISO file which you download

  • System » Software Management » Import

Step 3 : Install Available Image to Installed Image with new Boot Location

  • System » Software Management » Available Images » Install
    • Select Disk : HD1
    • Volume set name : 2

  • tmsh show sys software

Step 4 : Re-activate F5 License

  • System » Licence » Re-activate

  • Copy your Dossier
  • Connect https://activate.f5.com/license/dossier.jsp
  • Paste your dossier and copy your licence
  • Paste your license

Step 5 : Copy Running Configuration to New Boot Location

  • cpcfg --source=HD1.1 HD1.2

Step 6 : Reboot F5 with new boot location

  • tmsh reboot volume HD1.2

After system reboot verify version

  • tmsh show sys version
